Go remote and explore Babuyan Islands, the northern most group of islands in the Philippines. The result of a wild three to four hour boat ride in between islands is definitely worth it. The islands offer several natural landscapes from mangroves, walls of rocks, coves, hills and other breathtaking views. Special note for this trip is Camiguin Island where humpback whales have beem sighted. This is more for the adventurers out there as the place is not yet that developed for tourists. Camping tents and bathing in communal bathrooms, if not in the river, is the scene here. It is ideal to spend about five days if you plan to visit several islands.But nevertheless, the experience and memories you will have will be surely worth the trouble.
Although Atimonan, Quezon may be five hours away from Manila, it is one of the favorite spots of climbers because aside from the amazing rural scenery, the routes are also well maintained. Fresh air and clean limestones are the things to enjoy here. A day trip is usually done when visiting Atimonan but be prepared to rise super early and maybe just catch some sleep on the road.
