At present, more than 5.5 million Filipino families live in substandard conditions in dirty, overcrowded slums. Many families are also displaced whenever typhoons, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, and insurgency and armed conflict strike

Home ownership will help these families break the cycle of poverty because it leads to improved health and safety, stronger childhood development, and increased financial ability and self-reliance to build a better future.

Though a single letter differentiates the word HOME from HOPE, the impact of having safe, decent housing can spell the difference between lifelong poverty and the prospects for a brighter tomorrow.
